Textured Geoshield High Density Polyethylene is often specified as the primary liner. The geomembrane provides a highly impermeable barrier to gases and liquids, resistant to corrosion and most chemicals. The textured surface provides increased friction angles for higher stability on steep slope applications – significantly reducing slippage and allowing for both design flexibility and greater capacity.
A secondary liner is often incorporated for extra security, Geosynthetic Clay Liners (GCL) are high-performance environmental liners, manufactured with durable high-strength geotextiles and a uniform layer of low-permeability sodium bentonite. The geotextiles offer a long-lasting resistance to physical or chemical breakdown in harsh environments. The bentonite’s high swelling capacity and low permeability provide an effective hydraulic seal.
